Who is Jesus?

Who is Jesus? That's a question that has been asked for over 2,000 years, and yet the answer, all though often repeated, is not full believed. The name "Jesus" is known by people all over the world, and to many Jesus is simply a religious figure. However for Christians, Jesus is so much more than just a figurehead. He is Lord, Savior, redeemer and friend. He is the one who offers us hope, grace, and forgiveness. He is who he says he is God incarnate. the promised messiah. Let's take a closer look at who Jesus is and what He means to us.

First of all, Jesus is the Son of God. According to Christian belief, Jesus is the second person of the Trinity, and as such, He is both fully God and fully man. Jesus the victor in the battle with death. He was born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross, and rose again on the third day.

Some 500 people witnessed the risen Christ.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus made it possible for all humanity to be reconciled with God and to have eternal life. Jesus is not just a religious figure, but a historical figure who lived, died, and rose again, and whose impact and redemptive promise can still be felt and received today.

Secondly, Jesus is our example. He taught us how to love one another, how to serve others, and how to live a life that is pleasing to God. Jesus said, "Love your neighbor as yourself" (Mark 12:31), and He demonstrated this love by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and spending time with those who were outcasts in society. He also taught us to forgive others, even when they have hurt us deeply.

Jesus said, "If you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you" (Matthew 6:14). Following Jesus' example is not always easy, but it is always worth it.

Finally, Jesus gives us meaning and purpose. As Viktor Frankl wrote in his book, "Man's Search for Meaning," "The greatest task for any person is to find meaning in his or her life." Jesus gives us that meaning. He offers us a purpose that goes beyond our own selfish desires and ambitions. He invites us to be a part of His kingdom, to serve Him, and to make a difference in the world.

When we follow Jesus, we become part of something bigger than ourselves, and our lives take on new meaning and significance.

So who is Jesus? He is the victor, He is the redeemer, He is the Christ, He is the Son of God, He is our example, and the one who still gives us meaning and purpose. He is not just a religious figure, but a historical figure whose impact can still be felt today. Jesus offers you and I hope, grace, forgiveness and a restored relationship with God, and He invites you and I to follow Him and become part of His kingdom.

So, who is Jesus to you?
